Learnings
- I was reminded that 90% of the time people don’t know what they want. It’s our job to figure that out. While interviewing users I practiced strategies for asking great questions for qualitative answers.
- The importance of good clean UX focus from the beginning of building sites is so important. In WebMD’s case, it’s so far into a mess it is going to take a long time to get out. They need a new complete UX redesign, new content management, possibly rethink their business plan and well basically a whole new site.
- During this project I recognized that I am a very good mediator. There were several times when my team mates were trying to explain their ways of thinking and they just could not understand each other. I was easily able to assess the situation and smooth things over by finding similarities and asking the right questions to help us compromise. This characteristic might have stemmed from years of being the oldest child stressing to be the peacemaker in a large family of such unique minds. ;)
